Using the public guide.
Use the website respectfully and lawfully. The species guide and photography are educational resources. They are not professional wildlife handling, medical, legal, veterinary or emergency advice. Check the source and review date of information before relying on it.
Accounts and contributor approval.
Where enabled, contributor access uses Google authentication. Keep your account secure, use accurate profile information, and do not impersonate another person. Public profiles are optional. An account does not automatically grant permission to upload; trusted operators must separately approve contributors.
Do not attempt to bypass upload limits, access another person’s private submissions, approve your own application, or interfere with moderation and security controls.
Copyright stays with the creator.
You retain the rights you own in your photographs. Submit only work you own or have explicit permission to share. By submitting for publication, you grant WildHeritage Lanka a non-exclusive permission to review, safely process, resize and display the approved photograph with its agreed credit for the platform’s conservation and educational purpose.
This permission is limited to operating and presenting the website. It does not transfer copyright, create a commercial licensing arrangement, or authorise a sale. Visitors do not gain permission to reuse photographs merely because they can view them.
Review and publication.
Operators may reject or remove content for welfare, privacy, security, accuracy or copyright concerns. Publication is discretionary. The review process includes metadata removal and checks for sensitive details, but cannot guarantee that an animal’s location will never be inferred from visual clues or a third party’s knowledge.
No rescue or response commitment.
WildHeritage Lanka is independent of government and is not an emergency response authority. The pilot does not accept incident reports, dispatch assistance or guarantee that a concern will reach an officer. Use the official contact guidance on the reporting page and contact the responsible authority directly.
Availability, changes and removal requests.
As a beta, features may change or be unavailable. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, conservation outcomes or acceptance of submissions. Removal and copyright concerns can be raised through the dashboard controls when available and the operator contact on the contact page.
